Vegan Eats Amsterdam

Hold onto your stroopwafels: I’m going to be in Amsterdam next week presenting a series of vegan cooking demonstrations!

If you’re already there (or just visiting like me) please come and see me do my thing, plus pick up a signed copy of Vegan Eats World.

Catch me Thursday, October 25th 20:00 pm at Hotel V (V for vegan maybe?), Amsterdam, the details as follows:

On October 25th Terry will be in Amsterdam for the world premiere of her new cookbook Vegan Eats World. In addition to demonstrating a new recipe from this cookbook, she will give a lecture on veganism and cooking (with a Q&A session), and sign copies of the book, which will be available to purchase on the evening of the event for the special price of €25,- (normal price €34,99).

I’ll also be in Eindhoven earlier in the week presenting another cooking demonstration, more on that to come!

And while I have your attention, if you have any MUST eat or see things I shouldn’t miss, let me know! Truth be told it’s been over a decade since I’ve been on a bike (last time I was in Amsterdam, of course), so an epic ride through the city might not be on the top of the list (at least for now).

This Saturday, talk to me in Tampa!

Hey guys, I’m at yet another vegetarian festival this weekend: the 3rd annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest this Saturday the 13th from 10am to 6pm.

I’ll be presenting at 2pm; hear my unique story and my approach toward making great vegan food. Bring all your burning (not burnt) vegan cooking questions!

In addition to that, you can meet me at my own booth in the exhibitor area ALL DAY. I’ll have books for sale and for signing, including a very limited amount advanced copies of Vegan Eats World. Be the first people anywhere to have it in your hot little hands and signed by me!

WHAT: The 3rd Annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest will feature local restaurants with vegetarian and vegan food; live music; fun and games for kids; healthy-living and eco-friendly exhibitors; info on local nonprofits; animal adoptions; and well-known national and local guest speakers.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct.13, 2012, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

ADMISSION: FREE. Companion animals on leashes are welcome.

WHERE: Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, 601 Old Water Street, downtown Tampa, on south side of Old Water Street, across street from Tampa Bay Times Forum, on Hillsborough River. Brorein Street), and convenient to I-275, I-4, and State Road 60 (Kennedy Blvd.).

Vegan eats Toronto, then world

There are few things I should mention:

-I love September in NYC. It’s the best of summer with the promise of fall wrapped up into one. Clear blue skies, forgiving levels of humidity, the first instance of pulling out a light jacket. And I’m looking forward to being reunited with my underused vegan Doc Martens.

-I’ve had my nose to the grindstone wrapped up in the gritty, never-ending last-minute details, but my latest BIG cookbook Vegan Eats World went off to the printers two weeks ago. It’s due to hit the shelves in late October. It’s also undergone some recent huge cosmetic changes, so here she is, the new cover:

I’m still getting used to it myself (the change was abrupt and heart-stoppingly close to the drop-dead deadline), but a nice writer friend reminded me that the pomegranate has a pleasing global cuisine-spanning feel, as much as a fruit can hope to be. And I do use them liberally in recipes. But there is so much more than pomegranates in these pages! Dumplings, curries, noodles, pickles, banana-stuffed paratha, kale sweet potato fatoosh salad, Italian cashewcotta cheesecake and it goes on and on to all kinds of delicious map points.

You can pre-order at Powell’s, Barnes & Noble and Amazon, to name a few.

I’m traveling all over the place these next few months, so perhaps you’ll see me near you. Which brings me too…

-I’m off to Toronto tomorrow and will be presenting again at their excellent vegetarian food festival! Catch me at Saturday at 6pm demonstrating a quick steamed seitan that’s then marinated and roasted for succulent “gyro” strips. But if you’re there only for Sunday I’ll be co-demonstrating with Isa some vegan pie making! Plus, I’ll excited to judge/rule/preside over Vegan Cupcakes Take Over Toronto, some kind of crazy vegan baking event showcasing what’s what in the local baking scene starting at 4pm. Then off to catch a flight, get home late late, and collapse.

But while I’m there, if there’s any new, exciting, sizzling vegan eats I must try, please let me know!

-And, then, in between more traveling exploits, it will be all too soon before I start up another cookbook. Something smaller, with a tighter focus, and concerning a certain specialty dish we all love. If all goes according to plan I’ll be announcing in early in the new year all the juicy details!

VegFests, Everywhere, VegFests 2012

I’m attending a boatload of vegan food festivals this year! I love festivals and conventions, but this year may be the most jam packed ever. Find me somewhere soon for a cooking demonstration, a talk, a book signing or just stop and say hello.

  • In August the weekend of the 4th and 5th , I’ll be at the Farm Sanctuary at Watkin’s Glen super-fun New York Country Hoe Down.
  • In September I’ll be at the amazing Toronto Vegetarian Food Fest (the biggest vegetarian fest in North America) once again on September 7-9th.
  • After that, I’m really pumped to finally present at the D.C. VegFest on September 22nd. Every year this great veggie event has collided with my annual Gen Con (the biggest gaming convention in the US) plans, but this time everything works out a little too well (as in I’m seriously considering going south again for the Escapist Expo the following weekend.) Now at last, my twin loves of veganism and geekism join forces in my favor. Plus, what’s not to love about a great food festival brought to you by the swell folks at Compassion Over Killing?
  • October is always the busiest month, but also my favorite time of year. 2012 proves to be no exception with my first visit to Florida in ages to present at the Tampa Bay Veg Fest on October 13th.
  • And speaking of first-evers, I‘m honored to present at Atlanta’s first ever vegfest this November 10th.

There are even more events you’ll be able to catch me at coming in the fall, especially with the drop of Vegan Eats World in October!
